Xavier Buck is the Executive Director at Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation. When he joined the Foundation in 2019, Fredrika Newton shared with him her vision for preserving the Black Panther Party’s legacy in Oakland, the city in which they were founded. He decided there needed to be a robust public art and education program that weaved together the history with new technology. He wanted to construct Black Panther Party history into Oakland’s built environment while simultaneously bringing the history to people worldwide through digital platforms.
