Amalia Fischer

Amália Fisher holds a PhD in Communication from UFRJ and is the founder, co-founder, and currently the General Director of ELAS+ Doar para Transformar, the first women's fund in Brazil. She is an Ashoka and Synergos Fellow, co-founder of the International Prospera Network of Women's Funds, Comuá, and the Urgent Action Fund for Latin America. She also serves as a board member of the Baobá Fund for Racial Equity and ActionAid/Brazil. In 2016, she received the Nise da Silveira Award for her outstanding contribution to the cultural scene in Rio de Janeiro. In 2020, she was honored by the Institute of Mexicans Abroad with the Ohtli Award, which means "path," in recognition of her work as a feminist and advocate for women's rights abroad.
